University advising and preparation for Spring 2021

Dear Wolf Pack,

For those of you I have not had the honor of meeting, my name is Emilly Borthwick-Wong and I am the Executive Director of University Advising. I support all of your college advising centers to best support you and your advising experiences here at 情色五月天. As we head into the Fall Break, I wanted to reach out to you and see if you had met with your advisor and enrolled for Spring 2021? I know there is a lot going on with the move to remote for the remainder of the term, possibly relocating home, preparations for finals in a few short weeks, and the continuing pandemic. Considering all of these big tasks meeting with your advisor, and enrolling shortly after will relieve some stress and help you to plan for the future by knowing the instructional modes of your courses and how this term will impact next term in regard to pre-requisites and course sequencing.

During the meeting with your advisor you can discuss the recently announced update to the S/U grading policy and Spring 2021’s Remote Schedule Review Request, which is available for students who want to take their Alternative HyFlex courses 100% remote (available December 1, 2020). Additionally, by enrolling early you will ensure that your financial aid will dispersed on time. My recommendation for your next steps (start with the resources you need) would be:

  1. Schedule a virtual meeting with your advisor. 
  2. Plan your schedule and check instructional modes .
  3. .
  4. If you are enrolled in Alternative HyFlex and would like to take courses 100% remote, complete the Remote Schedule Review Request starting December 1, 2020.
  5. If you are interested in changing a grade to S/U, watch for the form beginning December 22, 2020.
  6. Get prepared for the Spring 2021 term that starts on January 25, 2021.
  7. Watch for communications about the coming term and your spring classes in your email.

Don’t forget, even though your classes are going virtual, all of the University’s resources are still available. You can get more information about campus resources and their operating modes during the break.
