Summary
I grew up in Houston, TX and received my B.S. in Environmental Studies from Texas A&M University in May 2023. I discovered my passions in ecological research and decided to attend the ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì, Reno to work with Dr. Julie Loisel studying tropical peatlands in the Caribbean. After performing fieldwork in Costa Rica, I am curious to understand and develop a first look into the palaeoecological history, soil carbon stock extent, and the drivers behind formation in 'New World' tropical peatlands. Additionally, after interning with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, I am eager to explore ways to aid people with their environmental issues and protect their land, especially in wetland ecosystems.
