Marking 190 members this last fall, the ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì, Reno has seen its marching band, the "Pride of the Sierra," grow in numbers, support and pride.

Greater ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì Credit Union presented the University's pep bad, the Howlers, with a $30,000 check at the Feb. 21 men's Wolf Pack basketball game against San Jose State University.

Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations, John Carothers, and Director of Bands, Reed Chamberlin, accepted the check on behalf of the University and the band from Greater ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì Credit Union's executive management team.  

This $30,000 check combines an initial $20,000 sponsorship and less than a year's worth of matched donations of $10,000. An additional $15,000 from GNCU is still available to match the equivalent amount of funds raised by June 30, 2018.  

Since 2012, nearly $300,000 has been raised to provide uniforms, instruments, travel and scholarships from the "It's Time to Support the Band" dollar-for-dollar partnership between Greater ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì Credit Union and the ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì Wolf Pack Marching Band.
