For the first time, the ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì, Reno is welcoming families to campus for ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì Family Weekend. The weekend will be packed with events starting on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024 and continuing through Sunday, Sept. 22.

“At the ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì, Reno we recognize the important role families play in student success,” Nikole Nichols, assistant director of New Student Initiatives and event co-cordinator said. “It’s important to us that our families feel equally as connected to the Pack.”

Nichols is coordinating the event with Emily Borthwick-Wong, executive director of Undergraduate Advising at the University.

During this inaugural campus-wide event, families have the opportunity to experience life on campus, meet faculty and staff, visit campus labs and engage in activities that showcase the vibrant and dynamic environment that Wolf Pack students call home.  From attending a class, cheering on the Wolf Pack at a sporting event, exploring the beautiful Reno or Lake Tahoe campuses, visiting a museum or participating in family-friendly activities, there’s something for everyone. Some events offered are free of charge while others are ticketed with various prices.

The colleges, libraries and on-campus museums are excited to welcome families to campus by opening their doors throughout the week for various open houses and hands-on activities. Presentations about undergraduate research that students are participating in will also take place throughout the week.  

On Friday, the President’s Office will be hosting a BBQ on the historic Quad from 4 to 7 p.m.  Saturday folks can start with yoga and coffee and then choose to either to cheer on the ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì Wolf Pack Football team as they match up against Eastern Washington or head to the stunning ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì, Reno at Lake Tahoe and experience all that is available there. A by ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì Athletics on Sunday morning in the Basin Street Club located in the football stadium. Tickets are $20 each and parking will be available on the 5th floor of the West Stadium Parking Garage.
